Our goal is to reduce uncertainties associated with project development, manufacturing and building assembly.
It all started with a question: how could we industrialise a building to the maximum?
The idea that gave rise to Ekonsteam emerged during a conversation in Montevideo. There we learned about a 3,000 social housing project whose structure was manufactured in parts and subsequently assembled on site.
That experience led us to consider how we would design a building if, from the very first moment, we thought of it as something to be manufactured. We wanted to move as much of the process as possible to an industrial environment, reduce the usual uncertainty of the building site and ensure that design, production and assembly worked as parts of the same system.
From that question Ekons System® was born. And that same question continues to guide every improvement we incorporate into the technology.
From an idea to a technology applied in real projects
- 2012 - 2014
Ekonsteam was founded in 2012 and developed a 3D modular steel construction system, Ekons System®, protected by 2 patents (the industrialised unit and the anchoring system that joins these units).
- 2016
We carried out our first project, a single-family home with 3 floors + roof, energy self-sufficient and with global building compliance certified by the OCT. Elordigane Development, Mungia (Bizkaia). Self-promotion.
- 2019 - 2020
We carried out the first project with the first licensee of the Ekons System®, JIT HOUSING. 9 single-family homes in Sopela (Bizkaia). Promoted by Viuda de Sainz.
- 2022 - 2023
We carried out the first high-rise multi-family project with the first licensee of the Ekons System, JIT HOUSING. 22 homes in Sondika (Bizkaia). Promoted by Viuda de Sainz.
- 2023 - 2024
Development of a 6-storey multi-family project in Galdakao (Bizkaia). Promoted by Viuda de Sainz.
- 2024 - 2025
Development of the winning project of the competitive dialogue promoted by Visesa, for the construction of 33 social housing units (VPO), with the highest degree of industrialisation in its history.
- 2026
Granting of the second licence for the exploitation of Ekons System® technology to Modul-A by Ruesma.
Start of manufacturing for the first Modul-A project, for the construction of 46 social housing units (VPO) for EMVS, through a public tender won by Ruesma, S.A., in Vallecas (Madrid).
Second public tender for 46 social housing units (VPO), in Vallecas (Madrid), won by Ruesma, S.A. and to be manufactured by Modul-A in 2027.
Technology is proven in real projects
From the first demonstration project in Mungia (Bizkaia) to the multi-family buildings developed and executed by JIT HOUSING®, each experience has served to validate, measure and improve Ekons System®.
We help other companies to build with Ekons System®
Today Ekonsteam develops and evolves the technology, grants licences to use it and supports the companies that decide to incorporate it. Our work consists of turning Ekons System® into a real capacity to manufacture and execute projects within each licensee company.
We licence the technology
We grant the use of Ekons System® to develop projects, manufacture industrialised units and carry out their assembly.
We transfer knowledge
We share the digital system, manufacturing processes, documentation and the experience necessary to apply the technology correctly.
We support implementation
We lead the start-up of factory activity, with the implementation of production means, the recruitment and training of the human team and the consolidation of factory management by supporting management during the first years of activity.
We continue to improve the system
In the course of the services we provide to Licensees during the development of each project, we obtain information and learning that allow us to perfect the technology, processes and digital tools, which then become part of the Licensed technology.
